OVERVIEW

 

Accelerated courses enable the public concerned to initiate or develop knowledge in Fashion Design or Pattern Making. These courses are validated by a certificate of ESMOD.

The courses are given in French, English and Arabic. The number of students in each class does not exceed 25.

 

Evening Courses

 

October to the end of March

 

Fashion design

 

Discovery of the fashion silhouette and flat design. Learning the techniques of coloring and development of trends. Implementation of this knowledge by achieving a mini- collection.

 

Tuesday and Thursday from 06 p.m. to 09 p.m.

 

Pattern making

 

Learning the process of the creator, from the interpretation of the fashion drawing to the achievement of a prototype. Teaching process of construction and architecture of a skirt and a blouse, Patterning by flat cut then achievement of the prototype on cloth. Discovery of patterning by molding and production of dresses.

Monday and Wednesday from 06 p.m. to 09 p.m.

 

Summer Courses

 

60 hours of Fashion Design from Monday to Friday, from 10am to 01pm during the month of July.

 

Learning basic techniques for drawing fashion figures and definition of personal universe students.

 

Achievement of records or several small figures while taking into account the personal world and the coloring work for models to reach to a full range of fashion design.

 

Efforts are underway to introduce a summer course in 2015 for Pattern Making.

 

 

Fashion Business

 

The objective of the course is to provide young professionals working in the Fashion Industry with the bases of Fashion and Luxury marketing, merchandising and branding.

 

• Introduction to Fashion Design: An introduction to fabrics, cuts, mood boards, etc.

 

• Fashion Environment.: An introduction to the fashion business environment. The evolution of the markets, the structures and the sectors are studied in a global context.

 

• The Complex Environment of Design: Learn how to anticipate and interpret fashion trends. Understand the dynamics and challenges behind the design of a collection.

 

• Fashion Branding Learn how to establish the brand identity, increase the desirability of the brand and identify brand extensions and collaboration opportunities.

 

• Fashion Marketing: Discover the Fashion Marketing principles and tools in order to develop a well-focused marketing strategy.

 

• Fashion Shows. Discover the Fashion Weeks world and enter behind the scenes of the Fashion Shows preparation.

 

• Luxury Brand Management: Understand the luxury marketing process, from brand DNA definition, to product design, promotion and distribution

 

• Supply Chain Strategies: Study the complexity of the fashion supply chain and learn how to identify opportunities and maximize profitability.

 

• Fashion Buying: Learn how to analyze sales, prepare budgets, identify suppliers and choose the right range of products for your brand or store.

 

• Retail Branding: Study the bases of Visual Merchandising and how to give your clients the ultimate shopping experience.

 

• e-Business and digital marketing: Identify the opportunities of the net and learn how to benefit from new technologies in order to increase the reach and appeal of fashion brands.

The World of Fashion

 

This workshop will be given in the form of theoretical presentations and creative exercises. 

 

Objective:

 

This course will allow participants to access an artistic, stylish and functional world: the world of fashion. The goal begins to differentiate the Fashion Design from the Pattern Drafting but also bind them. Linkages need to be made from the early stages to get to present a complete collection.

 

Explanation of each session:

 

1. Introduction: definition of Fashion Design and Pattern Making jobs (exercises, exhibition, slideshow)

 

2. Dictionaryof fashion: discovery of technical words, the language of fashion, styling offices and personnel for both jobs (Fashion Designer and Pattern Maker).

 

3. Chainof work: theme, mood, colors, sectors ... (Collage, search photos, cutting magazines)

 

4. Collection plan: products, consistency of a collection (a total look layout on the dummies ); fabrics prototype.

 

5. Brands: photos,magazines, videos, celebrityimages.

 

6. WorkshopImplementation of the course in a setting outside of ESMOD.

Visual Merchandising

Visual Merchandising and Store Coordination

 

Delivery mode: On-site

 

Objective:

 

Demonstrate how the life cycle of a brand's collection is reflected on store through coordination and visual merchandising.

 

Modules:

 

  • Cycle of a fashion collection in relation to the brand
  • Brand’s seasonal performance requirements
  • Understanding a retail store’s set up
  • Looking at a collection coordination rules
  • Application of visual merchandising rules to the fashion brand
  • Developing partial and global store coordination activities
